Love that second shot. Great framing and really nice treatment. Super colours.

Nice flavor to both pics. More please when you have time.

I'm guessing the second pic is of the new airport....

First shot is awesome - amazing image

I'm very jealous (as well as being a "Red Scouse") :)

Nice images.

I'll have a guess as to where the 2nd shot was taken as well - No I won't anyway after closer inspection......all that solar eclipse photography yesterday must have effected my eyes :)

The third shot of the Rickshaw shop was one of my favorites when I looked at your

Flickr site. An amazing wealth of shots. So many guys on this site have been doing

photos for years and are very well established. I have really enjoyed seeing many

of the posts and looking at the data from the pics.

You have a great eye, I am very impressed. I would like to know more about the techniques involved with the first two shots, BKK.

thank you everyone!

the first shot was taken wih my cheap Casio point-n-shoot. it's all about time of day and scenery on that one. all it took was being in the right place in the right light at the right time.

the second shot is an HDR shot taken at Suvarnabhumi around 2am in the morning on the 4th floor just outside the smoking room. this was taken in 3 shots with an exposure bracketing of +1. i then ran the photo through Photomatix to combine them and refine. i'm not a big fan of HDR, because it's just not reality in front of the lens, but i do enjoy taking them and post-producing them.

i shot with my Canon EOS Rebel XSi. the lens is the nifty-fifty. 50mm and again, with exposure bracketing of +1. no tripod, i had the camera set on the floor propped up on an angle off my laptop. the 50mm was nice because it's so light, but i frustrated quickly with it. my main prime lens is a 28mm f/1.8. heavier and slightly longer (plus the hood) but the wide is quite wider and the quality is choice.

the navy ship shot is taken with the 28mm. excellent in darker conditions and the auto-zoom and shutter are much quieter.

5th shot, Soi 11 off Sukhumvit, Bangkok

This is an intriguing shot. What was the farang and Thai lady discussing I wonder?

Well done on all your photos.

thank you. that's my friend who was doing model shoots around Bangkok. i was the key grip, if you will. i basically followed him around and took care of the models. and i mean that in the most professional way :) he's a Los Angeles based photographer and came to visit my wife and i a few months back. so, to answer your question, they were most likely talking about when we gonna eat or are you OK with being gawked at? haha. here is another shot i took from Bang Lamung:
