thanks to those who helped with my non imm "o" query a couple of weeks ago. i did not realize that the visa was valid from day of issue, rather than first arrival in thailand.

im sure this has been asked before, but i cant find it.

why do certain embassies/consuls issue certain visas, why are n't they all the same?

sabai, sabai, i managed to answer my own question by reading others.

i can return to thailand, with "o" visa and a one way ticket.

dont tell me they have moved the goal posts since reading that yesterday!

You can go to Thailand with a one way plane ticket if you have a Visa.

The Validity of a Visa starts on the day it is issued. Don't get it too early.

Different Consulates will have their own set of rules.

Hi All,

I have a question along this line.

I wish to apply for a non-immigrant B visa, with 1 year, multiple entries. I am in Sydney, but have heard Sydney is rather tough.

Can I send my application to another state or do I have to do it in person?

Any feedback on Melbourne, Brisbane or Canberra or is Sydney ok?

I apologise of this has been answered numerous times before, but would really appreciate the advise from you all.

Apply for a non-O in Perth.

Reason: visiting friends.

You'll find it hard to get a 1 year non-B without a workpermit.

You submit the visa application to the Thai consulate in the State where you live.

Residents of NSW apply at the Sydney Consulate.

You can apply by mail takes about 5 working days. Send your documentation by registered mail both ways.

You can apply for a visa at most any Consulate in the world. You just have to meet the issue requirements of the Consulate you apply at.

Mate of mine called Perth 2 weeks ago and was told he'd have to apply for a Non-O in person. Brisbane will accept out of state applications by mail.
