Work Permit Worry

I am a bit worried because my job that I am leaving tomorrow seems very insistant I give back my work permit. Isd there anything bad they can do to me if I a) do or b)don't.

It is no longer necesarry to return the WP when a job ends. In stead the employer must send a letter to the labour office that your job has been terminated as of this day. That would be the same day your permission to stay would end, if you are on an extension of stay based on your employment.

okay so as long as I am out of the country the same day as my last day there is no additional paper work for me....they had me very worried something bad would happen if I did not return the WP...just odd they want it so much

Some offices seem to still require the work permit to be returned and nobody has been able to provide documentation that it is not required on a recent thread. I would return it - especially if you ever intend to apply for another.
