Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

my baby is going to los with us from oct to jan 2010.....she has had bcg vacines,,,,doctor today told us she needs malaria and typhoid,,hep jags but these cannot be given to babies under 1 yr old...

we are worried sick now so what should we be aware of when in thailand for 3 months? keep her well covered with mosquito repellant....not to drink any water,,but what about showering in hotel and using that water? if any gets into her mouth ..??

we need some advice for those of u who are in the know,,we want to bring baby up to isaan to see wifes family but i want her to stay around bangkok,,,im iworrying too much,,i need to know what other risks there are and how to avoid them,,,

many thanks in advance....ps,,,the reason i say baby falang is becuase she was born here in uk and was not born in thailand...so se hasnt had her hep b vaccine,,her mother is not a hep b carrier/ or the hospital in uk would of known about this from her blood tests before she had the baby..

Hi Dmax

I read a thread here on the forum not so long back says babies don't need visa's I think its up to the age of 10.

Can't find it for the life of me right now.

My brother has a 50/50 baby, the Thai passport can ONLY be issued in Thailand/Bangkok he tells me. You need to take all your documents birth cert housing book etc long version birth cert for yourself etc etc...

Cardiff Thai Embassy is a tiny little office just off Bute street. Lovely people really helpful when I went to see them in and out in half an hour with a visa stamp.. Ring them / email visit.... Good Luck
