What Happened To Ravisher?

I read that he was given a weeks holiday for a harmless joke by someone in 'Control Freak' mode at the time.

He was a good'un. Unlike some of the previously banned members who are back under full knowledge of the mods yet are allowed to continue posting.

It just don't make no sense. :o

hey hey - be carefull... :D

you seems to be "flaming" !!! :D

[see Forum Rules]

'Flaming' is best defined as posting or responding to a message in a way clearly intended to incite useless arguments, rants, and/or for launching personal attacks, insulting, being hateful, useless criticism, name calling, swearing and other bad behavior or comments meant to incite anger....

so, these are very sensitive matters. because :

MEMBERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY

By continuing with, and maintaining your registration, you agree to be bound by all the rules and regulations set forth in thaivisa.com and that you will check on a regular basis for any changes that may occur herein.

and especially because:

Membership is at the will of thaivisa.com...

Excessive, aggressive posts against other members, moderators and admin; or flaming will not be tolerated....

Discussion of moderation issues, actions or moderation policies concerning individual cases are not allowed in the forums. Such comments should be directed to a moderator or administrator, and not discussed on the forum.

Thaivisa.com shall be the sole arbiter of what is and is not a violation of these acceptable use policies. We reserve the right to delete all content and files on our server and in our databases at any time for any reason. Thaivisa.com reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or suspend service at our sole discretion.

it is as simple as shopping - don't buy it if you don't like the price (don't agree to follow the rules in this case). perhaps most of ppl skip that step of READING the rules when they register AND never bother to look into them.

so, don't invite trouble for yourself ! just remember the simple 2 rules:

rule #1 - boss is ALWAYS right;

rule #2 - IF boss is NOT right - then see rule #1 :D

the usefull hint and secret here is - figuring out who is the boss :D

face it and live with it. otherwise - learn to be either positive and accepting as Rav or clever as those who you've mentioned - banned and "reincarnated" - although there is some rule about that too: see rule 8) there; it is kid's play to check the ISP of PC one logs in from - no matter how many new accounts one wants to open it is trivial to figure out that potentially it is same person (well, yeah can be a case when few people/ members may use same PC - but there are other means too)

Hi jackr, I got banned for a week by dr_Pat_Pong. Thanks for being concerned and thanks Gazza for your kind words.

Truth is, instead of spending my time here; I got to thinking about my future more. I thought I may, taking the words of somebody else on this forum, to turn from Game Keeper, to Poacher... and start a web site for Compulsive Gamblers. I joined one such forum and was made a moderator in only 5 days. I hope I can do a better job of it than some I know of  :D

dr_Pat_Pong did me a favour, although unintentionally. Thanks dr. I have now started to build a site and have learned something from doing that. Also some very interesting research. My positive attitude tells me always, that when one door closes another one opens.

Perhaps moderators should be more moderate and 'fair' in making their decisons to ban people. Forums need all the input and support they can get. It should be 'business' and not personalities and fragile egos that make decisions. Nuff said on that.

I will come in from time to time but not be quite so prolific in my postings. That will no doubt please some  :D

How's the dollar doing Harmonica? Still shooting up like a rocket?  :o

Buy when it reaches 1.48  :D

Take care ALL,

Rav.

Hi Rav'. Glad to hear you're still about. Just hadn't seen your handle in a while and thought the Doc may have done you over. I must admit, I enjoy reading your posts and witty retorts so hang in there and all the best with your new venture :D

Thanks for the advice about the rules - never read 'em, ain't gonna read 'em, but understand that violating them could cause problems with the moderators who I personally think must be the most wonderful and hardworking.......

Regarding people's resurrections after transgressing the rules, anyone who wanted to know how to disguise / withold their IP Address could do so after some research so it's a moot point really.

Anyway advice as to how to do it, however, will not be forthcoming from myself as the only reasons I can see a need to do so are dodgy to say the least so don't even bother to ask

Normally I am totally with the moderators, but don't even you mods think that a couple of your colleauges are acting like God,brushing members away with a sweep of the hand, like flies on a sandwich. I think some of you have Football referee's sickness........................it's ok for some teams but for others................FOUL.

Now,I know it's hard dishing out fairly, especially with some of the crap that appears on the Forum, but if you can't be fair,at least be consistant.Probably every mod has his person that he hates more than the others or someone that writes so much sh1t that even the mods are queueing up to ban them, but use your sense a bit more. Why not issue yellow and red cards ( both from the same moderator, with a rule that two or more mods can rescind the card if they think it's harsh)so a person knows if he's close to the mark. A tongue-in-cheek warning is often ignored. With a yellow card shown on the posters profile,he knows that he has one more chance. With the rescinded card rule there can be no picking on people even if they deserve it. The only thing against is it could cause arguements among the mods. But that is all part of the job.

You asked for consistancy, ok you will get consistancy.

Discussion of moderator issues is not allowed on the forum, if you have a problem, suggestion or gripe please email/PM the moderator in question or one of the Administrators.

In the mean time, topic closed (see, consistancy)
