Thai Police Crack Down On Karaoke And Bar Girl Touting Outside Of Premises

Over the last few days it has been well documented on Channel 3 news that the police are going to stop Karaoke and Bar girl female workers from touting and showing off their wares outside of the premises.

It was stated that some establishments are permitting their girls to sit outside on the street only dressed in skimpy underwear and that this is causing offence to some tourists and locals.

The big clamp down will begin at Bangkok in the foreseeable future than probably be imposed nationwide.

So is the end of, Hello Welcome? And could this be the beginning for the restricting of practises for beer bars and similar establishments that Thailand is famous for and could possibly cut the tourist trade down by another xxx%?

I'm all for ending the sex tourism industry, the kind of characters it attracts, both clients and providers, are harmful for Thai society.

Finally the annual summer crack down on Bars has arrived. Bit late isn't it?

showing off their wares

What is meant here - Under W(e)are, Soft Ware...?

outside on the street only dressed in skimpy underwear and that this is causing offence to some tourists and locals.

Only a few seems to be offended. Specially the 'locals'....

than probably be imposed nationwide.

Probably...? I was always sure that only Bangkok is the evil city.

They ain't no such premises in Chiang Mai, Buri Ram, Phuket, Pattaya....

SNAFU as usual - utter BS

This is all rumor as they did not post, reference, pictures of the police and the offender nor the address of the establishment. If the Mods do not jump on this I will be surprised as this topic is nearly 12 hour old.

Once there are NO TOURISTS, NO INVESTORS, NO EXPORTS, and NO FOREIGNERS living in Thailand, they will hold a very large celebration in honor of their success at long last.

Great. When the sex tourism industry has been eliminated that'll just leave the sex industry.

AleG, you must be joking. 80% or more of the ladies in Bangkok, Pattaya etc.,in the oldest profession, are from Isaan and support their families with the donations they receive from the sex industry.

Can't have 'em all back planting rice and feeding buffaloes now can we? :)

Thai Society!

Prostitution is and always has been a big part of Thai society. You will find the younger girls are in Thai only brothels. Much too good to allow Farangs access to them.

Go up country and look at all these Thai bars surrounded by fairy lights. What do you think happens there?

So the BiB is going to get rid of all premises in which they are not directly involved or gaining Satangs somehow, do you recall the raids at the PatPong Market? ah ah :) or the 40 "dissolved" red hands BiBs in Pantip?...whom is at the top is making anything they can to put the less well-off connationals in a position they could only succumb, so they can finally step in and own even more, while the BiB is somehow putting some "balance" on it and you know how..... :D

It's not that they're too good. That's just the brothel owners (pimps) keeping business under their control.

Anything else we can do to kill off tourism?

That said, I think it is indeed, sometimes, very annoying.

The touting is really getting too.........ehhhhhh.......intense?

A mod has already posted on this thread in her private capacity. No-one has broken any rules. Why should it be closed.
