I have a VW Vento and the glovebox doesn't want to open i am using the same key that locked the glovebox 6 months and it won't open!!

Any idea's how to open this thing without breaking anything??

Have you have tried spraying WD40 into the key hole? That can sometimes free the mechanism.

Use Rimmers advice first and the try mine if his doesnt work....

Turn the key 90 degrees in the lock and pull bloody hard, it's probably just a liile stuck. Put a cloth around the key head for extra leverage.

Cheers for the replies... My green book for the car has some how found its way in the glovebox (my wife) so it is needed for the tax and insurance up-date. I know if i take it to a local mechanic he is going to break it (replacement 10,000 +) so i might as well give it a go and break it myself...
