I got a confirmed ticket with Koran CNX to ORD for the 15th. Yesterday I was informed by my travel agent, that I had been dumped, and that they now had a seat for 29 th ! As I travel to the US for business, I have now no other choice than to ask for refund, which I will get maybe sometimes, and find a new ticket at any price, with whatever detour it takes. I absolutely shocked to be treated like a piece of cattle, and beeing dumped from a confirmed flight. And for shure the last time ever I will use Korean.

Still want to fly Korean ? Be also advised that the on board food is not edible, and take a bag of sandwiches with you.

Why were you flying with someone who had inedible food?

Asiana has superior customer service and the food is excellent!

Seems to me it's not Korean Air but the travel agent who probably had you wait listed flight but was unable to confirm so it was easier to blame the airline. Did you call Korean Air directly. I would.

When did you book your flight? My friend who works for Korean said all flights to the US from Seoul have been fully booked since the beginning of last month. The agency probably put on the waiting list and lied to you, not Korean Airline fault why would they dump you with a confirmed ticket? Next time I would book with the airline directly.

I have used Korean air on about 10 international trips never one problem. And the food is very editable, its not the greatest but what airline has "great" food?

I would imagine if you call Korean air with your RECORD LOCATOR or PNR # (should be on the ITIN your agency sent you), you will find you where never confirmed, just wiat listed. Your agency is lieing to you, it was their fault and they are saving face blaming some one else for their mistake (happens all the time)

Ditto with the praise for Korean Air. They used to be at the bottom, but these days they are excellent. Also the layover in Seoul is relaxing compared to Tokyo.

I have to fly Korean Air on business trips as I work for a Korean company.

Service has always been excellent.

The Koreans love the bibimbap that they serve on the flight but it's not my favourite so I rarely try it as the choice of Western food is usually adequate.

You can't expect fancy restaurant dishes on airlines these days unless you're paying for first class.

Yes, but does Seoul have draft Guinness and tempura shrimp udon?

To the OP, get a new travel agent... the one you have be bs'ing you large.

KE and OZ flights to/from the US are much more busy since the US Visa Waiver program went into effect for ROK passports. Flights to/from SFO from ICN have been jam packed for months now.

What is the point of using a travel agent to book an airline ticket, the airline website will be faster and cheaper.

It was your travel agent that screwed you not the airline. They DO NOT do this without talking directly to you and offering you compensation if it was a full fare confirmed ticket.

I've flown KA from IAD - BKK five times in the last seven years. Never had a problem. The service is always excellent & the FA's beautiful. Their cost was always competitive and at one time was the only airline I could find which made only one stop along the way. They usually offer the choice of two items at mealtimes...one asian...one western on the flights I've taken. I book directly on their website.

Was the flight ticketed and a ticket NUMBER generated... not the PNR reference but an actual e-ticket number? I doubt it very much, in which case you never really had a ticket unfortunately

Thats what I would have thought.
