Thank you for your reply, I have spoken today to Hull, They say get a multi entry visa, soon after arrival, go to Tak and ask what they require for a retirement visa which I can only get there, retrun there with paperwork before 90 days expire. I will require £3500 converted to thai bahts in my bank account for 2 months before application. So, thanks everyone, I can now return in October and get things on the move. K bank have been in touch,TMB are not so easy to get in touch with and have not replied.

You have to apply for your retirement visa during the last 30 days of your permission to stay.

Also the figure of £3500 is well above what it should be. At least £1,000 too much.

There is no need for a Multi Entry if you are going to apply within the first 90 days.

And it is an extension of stay. Not a Visa.

As helpful and friendly as Hull are do not expect them to know too much about Immigration matters. They deal with Visas.

It will depend on the exhange rate, of course, but #3,500 is more than enough. Also, make sure you obtain a re-entry permit when you obtain your retirement visa (1000 baht single entry, 3800 baht multi entry). Otherwise, when you leave Thailand to come back to the UK in May your permission to stay (and visa) will be cancelled.

It is not a visa. It is not a visa. (second verse same as the first). It is an extension of stay. :D

It is an extension of stay. It is an extension of stay. :D
