Validating Translation Passport

I am applying for my yellow house book and the regional office told me that I need to have my passport translated into thai and the translation validated by the ministry of foreign affairs on sathorn road.Now I went to the website of the m.o.f.a. and see they don't have an office on sathorn road.Will he have meant an other office or do they have an office on sathorn road.

It is done at the passport office on Chiang Wattana Road near Laksi. But normally you have translation service take care of it.

A translation of my Passport was not required when applying for a Yellow Book, had all the required documents, as per a previous visit to the Office, and got the result I wanted.

Reason for the translation was mentioned because I am single and there is no thai name in the blue book.I got the building license in my name and my name is hand written on the lower left of the first page in the blue book.

I f there was a thai name on the second page(which is empty in my case) I would not need the translation.

Maybe I am blind but I do not see where it says you are single.

There is an office right opposite the MFA on Chaeng Wattana that does the translation and takes it over the road for you. Try there. Easier to get everything done in one place.

If there is no Thai name in the blue book then it means no Thai person is living at the address.

Hi, I have just got round to getting my yellow book, on the passport I had to get a foto copy

of the passport, take it to the British Embassy and pay them to certify that it was a true copy,

then get the passport translated to thai, and then have all of it certified by the M F A .

You just never know what they want in your area untill you ask I did and got different answers

every time, but when I got there the worst thing was sitting with a typest and having my entire

life history with my wife put on paper, from the time we got married to the day we went to get the

book, she wanted to know all the places we had lived, if we had kids all there names an entire life

history, but I cannot remember reading anyone else having to do this, but I know other people doing this at my place

as I was shown them, but TiT.

Make a copy of your passport.

Get it translated.

Go to the Embassy of your own country and get the copy of your passport certified as a true copy.

Then, and only then, go to Chaeng Wattana, MFA, to get it legalised.

Bring your original passport with you.

3. get the copy, and the letter of certification translated into thai and notarised.

4. take the whole lot to the mfa.

most translation agencies will do the mfa bit for you.

you will also need your name and your parents names written in thai (the spelling in thai must match the thai spelling you provided for the purchasing contract at the land dept. when you purchased the condo, if the spelling doesnt match there may be problems when you come to sell the condo.)

take the mfa authorised documents and your passport to the tessabaan and they will issue the yellow book.

the requirements seem to vary from district to district.

Took my chances today and had my passport translated at a local translator and was stamped certified translation.Went straight to the Amphur,without having it validated at the mfa,together with copys from the blue book,passport,building license and signed power of attorney from the thai owner of the land.Handed it over together with 4 pictures.They went trough the papers and then called someone who spoke some english.They asked some questions about how many brothers and sisters I had and asked me to write down and pronounce my parents names.Then I had to sign a load of official documents after which they put all the details in the computer and produced another 4 documents which I had to sign.

They checked the translation of my passport several times and compared it with how my name was written in the blue book but never asked to have it validated or the copy certified.

After all the documents were signed I was told to pick up my yellow book next week.
