Is This Medicine Available In Los?

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me whether this medicine - Humira (adalimumab) - is available here in LOS? I believe it's used in the treatment of arthritis.

Thanx!

It is included in the directory of drugs approved for use in Thailand but with no brands listed, which I think means that no manufacturer has, as yet, a license to import it altho the Thai FDA in principle aproves the use of it, or something like that. Possible that some of the hospitals would have it, tho, and in any event being a potent immunosuppreseent drug one would have to get it from a doctor in a hospital.

It is indeed used in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (but not osteo-arthritis) as well as in Crohn's Disease and some other autoimmune diseases.

There are some very good rheumatologists in Bangkok, mostly at Bumrungrad.

Thanks so much for this information! :) A friend w/ Thai wife may permanently be relocating to LOS but needed to know that this prescribed Rx would be here for him. As a result of your info, he will be scheduling a flight to Bkk and to an appointment w/ a doc at Bumrugrad! :D

There is a very big Pharmacy (500 sq meter)next to Panthip at Thanon Wong Wang, if it is available in Thailand I'm sure they will have it, BTW there prices are on of the lowest in BKK.

They surprised me a few times with having medicines who are even very rare in my home country.
