eloigorri Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Hello, I am looking to engage a Hawk or Falcon handler to fly his bird around a large condominium located in Chiang Mai on a regular basis to help with a Pigeon infestation problem. We have tried all the usual techniques ; netting, scaring etc, but the problem is that many of the building units are unoccupied and therefore the pigeons have easy roosting locations we cannot get to. If anyone knows of such a person in or around the Chiang Mai area, Iād appreciate any contact details or a location to best find them. Thanks Ed

Thanks Ed It may be unhelpful but in my efforts to deter these irritating pests I came across this website www.helikites.com which may at least be of some interest.
Tywais Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 The farmers have started planting in the field behind my house and I see that they are using "flash tape" and seems to do a pretty good job. Flash Tape is an outdoor visual deterrent, you simply tie it to areas where birds have become a problem, and the wind and sun will move and reflect off the tape creating a visual disturbance in the area that birds will want to avoid. Just reflective aluminized Mylar strips hung up and the wind blows them around. Flash tape Also can use old CDs hanging from strings. Scare birds away with CDs
