Which Thai Bank To Use For Withdrawing Cash In The Uk?

Featured Replies

I want to use a Thai bank's ATM card in the UK to withdraw cash from a Thai bank account. Which is the cheapest bank to do this with? I heard Kasikorn was good in comparison with the others but that was a few years ago. Has anyone done a recent comparison? Cheers.

This is a good question. I have never considered the 'reverse transaction' but I guess we should know what the costs and pitfalls are of a Sterling withdrawal in the UK, with a Thai bank card.

I will head down to Nationwide and HSBC with my Kasikorn card later.

Be interesting to find this out...the "other side of the coin" so to speak

I have a vague recollection of it being a fiver.......but that was at a UK airport ATM

From my experiences, the Thai banks charge 100 THB for each overseas ATM cash withdrawal but you will normally get the cash spot rate for the FX exchange.

So all the the Thai banks charge the same amount for the international debit card to be issued? About 300 bt at the start and then 100 bt per year service charge?

I withdrew £50 rom Nationwide today. Nationwide have a message to say that they don't charge. K Bank charged 100 Baht and the rate (presumably set by VISA) was 56.9
