Uob Now Charging Atm Fees In Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Stopped at UOB next to Makro about an hour ago to withdraw some cash. First thing I noticed is the new software. Sure enough it now costs 150 Baht to use their ATM's.

Not for me it doesn't. Are you perhaps using a foreign ATM card? (why?)

That fee is for those of us using a foreign ATM card. I use it cause I don't keep much money in my Thai K bank account.

It is currently avoidable if you use GSB and AEON ATM machines.

Shame.

I was wondering how long it would take them to start charging as well. Thanks for tip about the other ATMs.

Regards

uob is now charging me 150baht in Bangkok (grrr). Apart from GSB and AEON ATM machines, what other ATMs can we use that don't charge? Also anyone come up with a cheap way to move money into Thailand? I hate giving banks money.

I have read on TV that you can also go to a bank with your ATM card and passport and withdraw a sizable amount. I still am not clear who determines the exchange rate, the local bank or visa for this type of transaction.
