LivinLOS
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...id=abR1S4fnOkW0 Kawasaki to Shift Motorcycle Output to Thailand, Yomiuri SaysBy Naoko Fujimura Aug. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. will start shifting production of medium-sized and large motorcycles to Thailand from Japan from 2010 because of cheaper labor costs, the Yomiuri newspaper said today. Kawasaki would be the first Japanese company to move large motorcycle manufacturing to an emerging country, the newspaper reported, without saying where it got the information. Honda Motor Co. is also considering shifting the production of medium- sized motorcycles to Thailand from Japan, the report said. To contact the reporter on this story: Naoko Fujimura in Tokyo at [email protected]. ZX6 ?? Z750 ?? and z1000 ?? Only logical.
ScubaBuddha
Good news for us not wanting to pay 200-300% tax on a nice big bike. When I hear Ducati doing the same thing I will really celebrate! Just kidding. If it's not made in Italy, it's not a Duke.
monkeyofdoom
That settles it. I'm sticking with my Ninja 250 until the ZX-6R is offered at non-taxed prices :-)
mca
Don't suppose they could "lose" a 2010 ZZR1400 in my direction at all? I'm sure they wouldn't miss one.... Edited August 24, 2009 by mca
ScubaBuddha
That settles it. I'm sticking with my Ninja 250 until the ZX-6R is offered at non-taxed prices :-) Good idea. If they stick to the formula, it will be about 335,000 baht. 345,000 for the Monster Energy version.
LivinLOS
Have to say the z750 or z1000 would be my pick..
nikster
To me, the interesting bit is the one about Honda and other Japanese manufacturers. Maybe Thailand is going to go from hel_l to heaven for big bikes, who knows The 2010 ER-6n ABS showed up here before anywhere else...
monkeyofdoom
I would definitely pay 335,000 for a ZX-6R. Until then, time to upgrade the 250R with a full exhaust system. Anyone got a spare one lying about? :-)
Kf6vci
Honda could assemble a top-seller like the 600 Hornet. Why concede the big bike sales to Kawasaki?

Zzinged
Maybe Thailand is going to go from hel_l to heaven for big bikes, who knows It ain't heaven until all the motorbikes (ok, at least big bikes anyway) get the same road rights as other users. I demand the right to go on bridges and highways, darn it!
