Greetings all,

Could someone please give me advice on applying for my first work permit.

Currently, I have a Non-Immigrant B visa wich expires on the 16th of September. I got the Non B with a letter from my current employer but I wont be getting my WP through them anymore are I am terminating my employment.

I would like to know is it still possible to get the work permit on my current non B visa with my new employer? Or do I have to get another letter from them and repeat the whole Non-B application process again?

Lastly, could you suggest a reliable accounting/law firm in the Phuket area who can help me get the work permit.

Thanks,

Steve

You can get the workpermit without getting a new non-B visa, as long as the non-B remains valid. Only when you are on an extension of stay would you have to get a new non-B visa.

You can get your work permit using your new employer. There is nothing that ties you to just one employer when you get a visa.

If you had an extension of stay based upon employment it would be different. The date your job ends your extension also ends.
