Do I Have A Bacterial Infection - Or Something Worse?

I have some symptoms, and I went to the doctor to get some medicine. Some of the symptoms were cured but some weren't. I am just curious if other people have experienced similar symptoms? I came across a web page with someone experiencing the exact same thing in Thailand and the doctor told him it was a bacterial infection. That is essentially what the doctor told me too but some of the symptoms are not going away. I did have unprotected sex with about 5 women. Two of them were in Pattaya and at least one of those was a sex worker. I'm worried about HIV. I will get tested at 30 days but if someone else has had similar symptoms, I won't worry as much.

I have had:

sore joints (which went away after I took the medication)

but I still have:

an abnormally thick white coating on my tongue every morning

some fatigue and sore throat.

I have not had much of a fever. It is hot here and I think Ive experienced nothing more than that.

I did get an HIV test, which came back negative, about 4 days after one of the possible exposures. But I know that I need another test later.

I am just worried it is something worse and Im hoping that these are common symptoms living in Thailand.

thanks

Most people do nto experience any type of symptom initially after acquiring HIV. Odds are that the symptoms you mention are unrelated to the high risk sex; you may just have a pharyngitis (sore throat).

That does not mean, of course, that you have not contacted HIV or another STD. An HIV test will nto be positive 4 days after exposure so the negative result just means that you had not contacted HIV previously. You'll need to repeat the HIV test at 30 days and if that is negative, again at 90 days and to be 100% sure at 6 months. This is because the commonly used, rapid tests for HIV are based on presence of antibodies which take time to form.

The good news is that the odds are in your favor, but you really should stop taking such risks.

Other STDs have varying incubation periods; gonorrhea can be 2 - 14 days, chlamydia 1-3 weeks, herpes 2-12 days, genital warts (HPV) 2 -4 months etc.

If its a red ring around your cock its lipstick.

If its a green ring around your cock its gangreen.

Please keep it civil guys; I'm sure if you were on the receiving end, it would not be funny...

You wouldn't have any acute symptoms if any while seroconverting to HIV so soon after possible exposure. More likely at about 2-4 weeks after. You'll have to wait to get tested. I hope you are in the clear but you did something very risky.

Unprotected sex in pattaya!!?????

I have no sympathy what so ever :D:D:):D:D

You should never have unprotected sex In pattaya , you always want a man with a gun next to you when you are doing bed room olimpics, then he can shoot you in the head, then that way at least you know you are going to die quickly rather than slowly.
