Hello all,

I am currently on a triple entry tourist visa and the second entry has just expired.

i have just noticed I am overstay since yesterday (I was admitted until 3rd of september). Its my fault, in my mind I could stay until the 6 but well....

I have booked a flight on the 7 of september already. What should I do? Go to immigration office and clear this out ?

I am afraid to be denied for a new visa later because od this little overstay?

I am so stressed out, all your answers will be welcome :)

THANKS!

Go to immigration today and pay the 500 baht fine for one day of overstay. And apply for a 30 day extension of your tourist visa entry. It will be no problem to do this. Just smile and say you are sorry.

You will need a copy of your passport photo page, visa page, entry/permit to stay page and your TM6 departure card. Fill out a TM7 form and attach a 4 X 6 cm photo and pay 1900 baht for the extension.

It will cost you 500 baht for every day you don't get this done.

Thanks for the fast answer! :)

aie but I will still get the bad "overstay stamp" in my passport right?

I want to ask for a new visa in december (maybe even a business one because I might have found an employer here)... will that be a problem now because of this stamp?

Thank you!

You will not have a problem getting another visa. An overstay is not that big a deal when it comes to getting a visa or anything else. Especially since you will only have one day of overstay if you take care of it today. There is nothing you can do to avoid an overstay now.

The overstay stamp is just a little blue stamp that looks a lot like all the others and is written in Thai.

thanks to all I feel better now :D

ok ill just clear this out now at the immigration bureau... Ill get a 30 day extension for just 4 days as I leave on monday but oh well :)

yes sure, but 4 days wont be a big deal either for further visa requests? Is it the same little blue stamp?

And I am afraid to get stuck in the lane or something I heard it can be long.

If you are flying out on Monday you could just wait and pay the overstay fine that will be 2000 baht at the airport.

But you run the risk of being detained by the police if stopped as are on overstay. Personally I would go the extension route for peace of mind.

And so would I. :)

yes you are right that's what I did :) Just paid 2400 baht ie 400 baht more than if I had paid at the airport for 4 days overstay.

To my big surprise, it went really fast, although I went there on a Friday afternoon. I didn't spend more than 30 minutes in the immigration bureau :D
