I can see its a viper - My better half reckons its a Sleeping Cat Snake (noo meaw sao) or Russels Siam Pit Viper. Correct or not? I found it in a beach hut on a small island on the Andaman coast.

Pit vipers come in many different color variations - it's not a rat snake. Although it does look like a Russells I think it's more like the Malayan Pit Viper

Malayan Pit Viper is my guess. Viperkeeper calls these "Finger Rotters" so you definately don't want this around you or your family.

Actually color doesn't look right for Malayan Pit Viper so perhaps your Mangrove Pit Viper is correct.

that snake is a Kanburi Pit Viper-Trimeresurus kanburiensis. Highly venomous-as are all vipers. :)
