Hi , I wonder if anybody knows if there is a procedure to remove small tags of skin , these seem to be growing on the inner upper arms near to my armpits, and also a couple on my inner thighs, I need to take extra care when toweling dry these areas, as quite often catch the tags and experience quite painful snagging ?? any help/advice would be much appreciated

Simply go to a dermatologist and ask to have them removed. No big deal. They either burn them off or "snip" them off. They may use a "local anesthetic" for pain relief if they are too big. Suggest using a hospital because they'll more equipted for it than the outside clinic. Even the "shopping mall clinics" can handle it too.

My Aussie doc told me to cut them off myself with a pair of nail scissors. A dab of antisceptic and a brave smile is all you need.

I wouldn't go near any butchery/self butchery. Certainly do not go for the dryice burning off system that some general practice doctors use. I had many many mostly very small ones. I got a perfect results from a doctor who does beauty procedures (such as botox, spider veins, broken capillaries, etc) and he lasered them off. But BE WARNED, this procedure was very very painful. He injected a little local anaesthetic into each one, this was very painful. Then the laser - OH MY GOD did it burn!! But PERFECT results. Make sure that they have a laser before you commit to the procedure. A laser is an expensive piece of equipment and so some may talk of using laser but use something else.

Laser should not hurt at all (or very little). I have had a number of abnormalities removed with such at Vejthani by two different dermatologists. You have the choice of a cream or injection. Cream will take about 40 minutes but injection is almost immediate and found it about the same as a pin prick. I did avoid looking at the laser process but it really was not any serious pain (and I had some large/deep removals). I do recommend laser highly over the old CO2 can freeze (which results in a major mess/long heal time and for me did not work as spots came back).

Laser worked for me; it is fast and efficient.

Laser is the normal treatment, after anesthetic cream has been applied for 45 minutes. I've only been given a local anesthetic injection for something that is large, like keratosis, never for a skin tag.

If you want to do them yourself, put a paper clip on them, or tie them off with cotton. A week later they will fall off; if they get a bit sore from clothes, use cotton put a plaster over the top.

What my Aussie doctor said and I got rid of a few doing just that. Never been a problem, never been painful.
