It is usually done within the last 30 days of the current extension. The earlier the better.

From 30 days before the expiry date.

Up to 90 days early is welcomed in Pattaya, no excuse needed.

I just did my extension at Suan Plu 2 weeks ahead of expire. I believe you can do it within 21 days before.

They like you to do it 30 days before. Some offices even advise you to do it earlier as JT said.
