Agree - admittedly this is more serious than the women who sunbathed in a bikini on Sanam Luang (BKK) and Temple grounds in Chiang Mai... but the puritanical hypocrisy is practically Olympic-level at this point, the response is a bit rich when all thats needed is a 'firm word'... "not acceptable - Dress pls, or we arrest". ... Instead, the response and the overly puritanical media outrage attempts to create an international incident when nearby a blind eye is turned to one of the largest prostitution scenes in the world, whole red-light districts - open, advertised, and booming - It's part of Thailands charm.... Yet, the moral outrage only gets wheeled out when there's a chance to publicly shame a foreigner and score purity points. It’s not about upholding Thai values - it’s about theatre. The issue isn’t the act, it’s who is doing it and how visible it is. Thats particularly noticeable when local authorities turn a blind eye to the neon-lit parade of sex tourism night after night, but whip themselves into a frenzy the second someone breaks a dress code in the wrong postcode. It’s performative, selective outrage - and it reeks of a double standard. -

I think you missed the point of most discussions about Thai Immigration. No, I did not, the point of most whinging about IOs is just that, Thai-bashing and whinging, when all that is going on is IOs doing their job of making sure those trying to enter Thailand are legitimate.
