Is there another country I can go to that can renew my 'O'visa without having to return to the UK ? I was told you can get it done in the Philippines but I have my doubts. Thanks

You must obtain a new visa if you can not extend your stay at Immigration. So the question becomes on what basis is your visa issued and new one issued? But it is safe to say Manila is not considered a good choice for any visa issue.

On what basis was your visa issued? If multiple-entry Non-O issued on the basis of visiting friends, Perth is the nearest consulate, but there was a report yesterday of refusal of same visa at Brisbane, so I would check with the consulate before traveling. Manila does not have a good reputation.

It al depends on whether you qualify. Thai Wife or kids? Over 50?

The answer to all is yes. Only an 'O'visa is required but I just don't fancy the trip back to the UK.

KL will issue with some money in a bank account requested for the multi entry. Believe Penang will also issue. You should have marriage certificate/copy of wife ID card signed by her and copy of birth certificate. Also good to have a note signed by wife asking for visa to be issued.

I assume they accept the money to being in a Thai bank and is there a defined amount required ?

The amount is not defined and has ranged from zero up. 30-100k seems to always be accepted. And yes in a Thai account in Baht is fine.
