Thanks for the cartoons, Donnyboy.

From Johnny Cash…

My mama always taught me that good things come from adversity if we put our faith in the Lord.

We couldn't see much good in the flood waters when they

were causing us to have to leave home, But when the water went down,

We found that it had washed a load of rich black bottom dirt across our land.

The following year we had the best cotton crop we'd ever had.

I remember hearing:

How high's the water, mama?

Two feet high and risin'

How high's the water, papa?

Two feet high and risin'

We can make it to the road in a homemade boat

That's the only thing we got left that'll float

It's already over all the wheat and the oats,

Two feet high and risin'

How high's the water, mama?

Three feet high and risin'

How high's the water, papa?

Three feet high and risin'

Well, the hives are gone,

I've lost my bees

The chickens are sleepin'

In the willow trees

Cow's in water up past her knees,

Three feet high and risin'

How high's the water, mama?

Four feet high and risin'

How high's the water, papa?

Four feet high and risin'

Hey, come look through the window pane,

The bus is comin', gonna take us to the train

Looks like we'll be blessed with a little more rain,

4 feet high and risin'

How high's the water, mama?

Five feet high and risin'

How high's the water, papa?

Five feet high and risin'

Well, the rails are washed out north of town

We gotta head for higher ground

We can't come back till the water comes down,

Five feet high and risin'

Well, it's five feet high and risin'

Have a Johnny Cash dvd and it has him singing this in glorious grainy black and white- magic. :)

looks like Parma will lose more steam & pass Thailand altogether

Although this Parma did lose some steam in the last few weeks, she isn't going to pass but to stay. :D :D

Btw, big dark clouds visible this morning ... but not even 1 drop. :)

The heaviest storm of this season has just abated :D Garden under water soi flooded, and all my frangipani seedlings have been blown over :)

To add to that we have had no power for the last hour or so......

If Jimmy Webb could make a small fortune writing about a cake he left out in the rain, then surely you could pen one about your Frangipani seedlings tragedy. Worth thinking about. :)

With all these gripping tales of rain during the rainy season, I wonder what we have to look forward to in 3-4 weeks time when the rain stops.

"It's sunny in Saraphi"?

I can't wait. :)

I'm going to 'work' and after that I may well pop in to Guitar Man to see Nicky's now famous renditions of Sex Pistols songs. You've got to see 'God save the queen' to believe it.

Parma still around, but didn't do much havoc. In fact, kept it very quiet last night. There was some steady rain and the temperature dropped to a wonderful and cool (almost chilly) 20 degrees. This morning around 7.30 still 20 degrees Celsius, no rain. An hour later it had gone up to 34 degrees in full sun and 28 degrees with clouds.

A start of a wonderful day. Parma will kept it quiet though, as I was told.

You should be on the telly. Any chance of making these weather updates on an hourly basis?

How's it panning out at Maejo, Hang Dong, San Kamphaeng, I wonder?

Any forecasts for Nong hoy at 4.30? - I'm planning on being on the courts at about that time.

If it's going to rain I may give it a miss. I don't like playing tennis with soggy balls.

Parma has fizzled out as far as i know, it doesnt even register on the site i look at, most of the focus in the broader region is on Typhoon Lupit, which is about to bear down on the poor folks in the Philippines, but its losing steam as it makes landfall

If you'd have finished that with -' Over to you Nienke', that would have been perfect, so I can only give it 9 out of 10, I'm afraid.
