Where Can I Get A Blood Test For Pregnancy

Featured Replies

Topic says everything. Now, I understand Thai medical practices may not be up to international standards, but every hospital I've called has told me 1 week. That is simply absurd for a test that takes 5 minutes in a lab.

Surely there must be a hospital somewhere that has a lab on site and actually wants business.

Anybody know of one that is reasonable? I need the actual beta count. Urine test won't do it.

Thanks.

P.S. Need this in greater Bangkok area.

We had both of our pregnancies confirmed at Samitivej and Samitivej Sri Nakarin. Think it was the same day, certainly not a week.

There is a difference between the blood test to determine wherther or not someone is pregnant and what this poster is asking for, which is a beta HCG test. That is a much more precise test which quantified exactly how much HCG is in the blood. Fopr simpkly diagnosing pregnancy a qualitative rather than quantitative HCG test is done; these are very rapid. But the quantiitative tests do in fact take longer to do (and cost more), altho I agree that 1 week seems long.

best bet is a very large hospital which does a lot of IVF (most large hospitals do). Bumrungrad, Samitivej, Bangkok General etc.
