Has Tak Mae Sot Immigration Moved?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Going to Mae Sot in the morning for extension of Non-O visa (Thai wife).

I have the address at 390/15-16 Moo 2, Tambon Tha Sai Luat, A. Mae Sot.

I thought I remembered someone posting that the office was moving, but I can't find the post.

Anyone know if I am still going to the same address?

Thanks

Too late. I have just seen the post and the time

It is still where it has been for a while which is to left side of the bridge almost down to the end on the left side and they are farang friendly.

Parking is easy just outside.

Thanks. Got there and back with no problems. The post I saw must have been about another issue.

Yes, very friendly office. I was quite worried the first time in a new office after getting the last two extensions in Bangkok.

No unexpected surprises except all documents had to be submitted in duplicate. Luckily a modern copy center just in front of the bridge entrance on the right. Were even able to scan my photos and make two more printouts for me.

On an incidental note, I had previously posted that the information at the Immigration main page had a mis-organization error here:

http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/ba...p?page=service#

It reads as follows:

List of documents for extension Thai spouse visa

1. Application form T.M. 7 with one photograph size 4x6 cm. and Visa Fee 1900.-Baht

2. Copy of passport ( with certified true copy )

3. Required documentation for applying visa in case of

- For supporting Thai wife

1. Marriage Certificate

2. Child's birth certificate (if any)

4. Recording interviewing the husband and wife for confirming status of husband and wife

5. House’s map

6. Other such as Registration Company

7. Picture of house and family

- To be supported from Thai husband

1. Marriage certificate

2. Child’s Birth certificate

3. Husband’s house registration

4. Husband’s identity card

5. Recording interviewing the husband and wife for confirming status of husband and wife

6. House’s map, picture of House’s and family

Upon arrival they provided me a hard copy of the above list which correctly reads somewhat differently from the above:

List of documents for extension Thai spouse visa

2. Copy of passport ( Certified true copy )

3. The required documentation for applying a visa in case of

- Supporting Thai wife

1. Marriage Certificate

3. A copy of House Registration

4. A copy of Identification or Official card

5. Statement of husband and wife to confirm the status of family

6. A map of location's home (sic)

I see from the checklist that photos are not mentioned, so I don't know if I would have been in trouble if I didn't have them.

Item 6 I presume was just a different way to say interview. I did not provide any written statement.

Hope this helps. Since my topic probably won't draw much traffic, I suppose I should cross-post to a new topic...

-- The evidence of Transfer money from abroad

This is not actually a requirement. Most offices will not ask for this.

I think the bullets in each category are "either/or".

They accepted the Embassy letter as sole documentation from me, as they have each year in Bangkok.

That was one of the things I worried about, so I took a lot of bank papers just in case, but they did not ask for anything.
