Etihad Airways

Featured Replies

Good on Etti....little bit restricted but at least they are trying...... :D

From BT Mag.....

Passengers of Etihad Airways flying to and from Thailand are enjoying an early festive perk until year-end.

The airline has started offering a one-way airport transfer between Suvarnabhumi International Airport and Pattaya. Those travelling on Pearl Business Class are entitled to a complimentary luxury limousine service, inclusive of fresh towels, bottled water and daily newspaper.

The airport transfer can be taken either upon arrival or departure.

For passengers on the airline's Coral Economy Class, the one-way airport transfer covers only the Pattaya to Suvarnabhumi sector.

An Etihad van service is available for three or more passengers travelling together.

The complimentary service also only applies to those flying on Etihad's EY407 flight between Bangkok and Abu Dhabi which departs at 0845.

To avail of this one-way airport transfer between Pattaya and Bangkok, bookings must be made in advance.

Meanwhille, outbound passengers – whose tickets are issued in Thailand and are flying on the airline's EY407 morning flight to Abu Dhabi – can take advantage of a complimentary one-night hotel stay in Bangkok either at the Grand Millennium Sukhumvit or Novotel Suvarnabhumi. This is also available from now until December 31.

Both passengers travelling on Business and Economy are entitled to this complimentary hotel stay. Those travelling on Pearl Business Class have an additional benefit of a luxury airport limousine transfer to Suvarnabhumi International.

On Business class free transport was the norm, within 100km I thought……

And for the Economy travellers, who go in fours anyway?

Etihad are good and I’ve flown to Europe with only them over the last 3 years for this reason. But this latest campaign is rather rubbish.

Isn’t a decent van for 4 people to Pattaya about B2-3000 or so? (or less)…

For business class / Pearl passengers arriving in the UK - a journey of up to 100 Miles in an S Class Merc, XJ or XF Jag, 7-Series-BMW is a huge incentive…. Worth perhaps $200 and a fantastic pull.

Given the cost of local transport I can’t imagine the benefits provided when purchasing a ticket with Etihad having much impact on sales.

Wouldn’t companies such as Etihad do better to offer good transport deals to Economy class customers in countries with more expensive transport links ?

(from someone who’s spent money on 8 BKK-UK return Pearl class journeys in the last 12 months)

They would be better off reducing business class fares to a competitive rate similar to Qatar or Emirates. The only reason I stopped flying with them.

Would have thought they would get more publicity (ie potential customers) if the offered it the other way as well.......from Suwannna to Patti....

..anyway done a couple of trips with them and... No Complaints.... :)
