I want to bring my aunty to Australia for 2 months, I have the necessary requirements to sponsor here (income, etc) but that's what I know only!

I was told I have to write a letter requesting the Visa at the Australian Embassy in Thailand, if so anyone could help me what I should write?

and also to add; it will greatly appreciated if anybody could give me some tips and advice to doing this process

(apparently I heard it requires paperworks and all that! for us to bring a relative here.. legally) :)

You can write away for the applications or download them from the website.....

You must be an Australian citizen or a permanant resident to sponsor a family member......

The visa cost is $105 at this time.....The security bond if required is determined after the application is lodged.

You get the applications and send the applicant part to your Aunt, she fills it out and sends it back to you....along with any supporting documents (photos, letters phone records etc...) Something to prove the relationship would be advisable.

When you get that back you take your form and hers to Immigration and lodge it with any documents you want to add....a letter of support from you is good and prove of income will probably be needed.

They will contact you if they feel a security bond is required.

That is one way of doing it....

She can apply for a 676 short stay tourist visa in her own right....you will probably need to put yourself or your partner down as an Additional funds provider on the application.

I also want to add;

could I do a joint sponsor? because honestly, my mother has a closer relationship (her sister) than myself as a niece.

From what I can see there is no provision for a joint sponsor. If anyone esle can clarify this it would be appreciated

A third party can assist with the security bond if required.

The security bond is usually between $5000 and $15000 if requested.
