True Move Pre-pay Unlimited Data (or Similar)

I have read several threads on this, but still have some questions..

True Move has an unlimited 1mb data plan at 799 baht . Im on a simple pre-paid 12call plan atm, but i want to have a data plan and true move seems to have the best option (?).

With the True Move data plan, do i need to buy a separate sim first, then tag on the plan or what?? :)

With the plan, can i set it up for home net usage via comp/laptop etc? (If so, anyone can give a guide how to set this up?)

Do AIS or another company offer a similar plan? (I cant see one that comes close to the True Move plan)

Would really need to be pre-paid i think because i dont have a work permit and other malarky that they may likely require (although could probably go through my bf i guess). I like pre-paid in any case as i can pick and choose if i wish.

Thanks all.

Ouch, their price has shot up. Unlimited GPRS used to be 250 Baht/month!

Yep, you get a True simcard and then call customer service to activate the package you want. Make sure enough credit is on the simcard.

Seems to be 599 Baht for the GPRS/EDGE alone, and for 200 Baht/month extra they give you access to their wifi hotspots they have (located mainly in shopping malls).

If you want to make a little home network, you need to get your laptop or PC connected, either through an EDGE capable mobile phone, or a dedicated USB GPRS/EDGE modem (around 2500 Baht). Then set up internet sharing.

Easier but more expensive is to buy a wireless 3G router. Have seen seen a few models in Pantip Plaza, priced at around 7,000 Baht. Just stick in your simcard with the data plan activated, and hook up computers through the router, either wired or wireless.

Regarding pre-paid simcards, you can easily get a data plan on your one2call sim as well. Unlimited is more expensive then True at 999 Baht/month, but if you roughly know your usage you can get for example 100 hours/month for 350 Baht! Which is average 3.5 hours/day, every day!

On one2call just call 1175, push 1 (I think) for English and just explain the customer rep what you need, they will have it set up in just a minute! Or do it yourself with the automated system by dialing *138 and listen through all the options they have and choose accordingly by pushing the proper numbers...
