Have existing ED Visa, changing schools to closer location.

What's required for the ED Ministry? Just my existing paperwork and contact from the new school?

Is your current permission to stay in Thailand based on

a) an entry with your non-ED visa, ie an arrival stamp “admitted <date> until <date>", or

B) an extension of stay you received from your local immigration office?

Local Immigration Office: Extension of stay permitted up to (date in mid 2010). Holder must leave kingdom within the date specified herein, offenders will be prosecuted.

I believe your extension of stay for study is not tied to the school, but have a close look at it, please, to be sure, and perhaps have the office of your new school double-check it too. When the time comes for your next application for extension in the middle of next year, bring the usual paperwork, this time from your new school, along.

Which means you have been given a 1 year extension, so likely studying at a larger school (unlike the small language schools, where extensions are usually only for 90 days each).

Best double check with proper authorities, including schools.

True, most schools will say not to worry, just bring the paperwork from the old school before the next extension.

But they don't actually care if your visa encounters problems, they are locals, nothing to lose.

I'll go to Education Ministry and Immigration and inquire. We can keep the topic open in case someone who runs a school happens past and comments.

Start with immigration, I suggest.
