Bangkok Podiatry

Featured Replies

I am a British registered Podiatrist who has just become engaged to a Thai lady. Can anyone tell me please about the state of podiatry in Bangkok - jobs availability, career structures, remuneration levels etc. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Basically, from what I've determined from over five years of searching, is that there are no podiatrists in Thailand! I'd be delighted to be proven wrong, or if not, to hear that you are moving here to set up practice.

I believe that elsewhere in this forum there was a posting that gave the details of one, thought to be the only one.

However, OP, it is next to impossible for foreigners to get a license to practice clinically as a health professional in Thailand...and a work permit is required for any type of business or employment. So I thibk you may find it difficult

There are no qualified / registered podiatrists in thailand , most expats and thais go to a GP , orthopedic surgeon or physiotherapy Dept at international hospitals for treatment for foot problems.

If you google foot care in Bangkok or contact footcontrol in Bangkok for contact info, there is a guy from NZ that has a orthotics lab that can give you info or answer your queries .

Thanks for the input - all duly noted.

My daughter has had two pairs of orthotics made in Bangkok by an expat and seems to be satisfied with them. I suspect it was the NZ fellow mentioned earlier.
