I've seen the AIS desk there at Swampy along the ARRIVALS walk to the Meeting Point. However, don't know how long they're open. Sure would appreciate it if someone passing through could ask them in the next couple of weeks. Got my sister coming in for a visit in December, arriving via United at 0-dark 30.

If they're closed then, reckon I'll just buy a SIM here and snail it to her. Activate it first here and load up some time.

did you do the most obvious thing and tried to get this information from their very helpful callcenter ?

I am at Suvannaphum on Tuesday, but I am leaving, not arriving, so no idea if they would let me inside that gated arrival area to inquire at their counter.....

I frequently arrive on the UA flight from Narita, and the AIS & DTAC offices on arrival level have been open when I walk by.

Ah, thanks, that's the answer I was looking for.

Re the "CallCenter," nope, didn't try that, I really don't have much luck calling "help" lines either, do rather well eyeball-to-eyeball, tho.

Both the AIS (One-2-Call) and DTAC (Happy) shops (land-side, level 2, "Arrivals") are open when I walk by after having arrived on the UA flight, so 23:30-ish. Link and picture.

Having said that it would be far easier for her if you were to purchase a SIM, activate it, top-it up and then mail it to her. I do this often to save friends the extra hassle of dealing with issues upon arrival. This way both of us know the number ahead of time, which is especially handy for the traveler as they can give their number out before they depart. Also I enable international roaming before I mail the SIM so they can pop it in, in the U.S. and test it out.

AIS/One-2-Call have outstanding customer service, dial 1175 then press 2 for an English-speaking CSR. They can handle any request, IME.

About the same. I picked up a True card on my way out of the airport a couple of months back. Not sure if it was 39 or 49 baht. Certainly not much different.
