There are promotions such as 25000B to get a student visa with twice a week study course.

I've seen some university sites and they offer 30000 for master degrees 16000 per sem for bachelors degree.

I feel 25000B is quite expensive for just twice a week class and a student visa. I could get student visa if I am taking some 1 year course?

Also this student visa is much more cheaper than border crossing 4 times a year?

The requirement for an ED-visa is a minimum of 200 hours of study per year.

You can study what ever you want, as long as the institution is recognized. Always inquire if they can help you with an ED-visa.

The cost of the language school doesn't include the cost of the visa. For most schools you will have to get an extension every 90 days. Only when you do a real university course will you get a 1 year ED-visa, which you don't have to extend every 90 days.

You can obtain Non-ED visa from consulate abroad if planning to study. The minimum study is 4 hours a week. The school will provide you with necessary papers to support your visa application. Consulates in the region will usually issue single entry visa allowing 90 day stay, and can then extend permission to stay at Thai immigration with papers from the school.

A tourist visa extension is 30 days making a total of up to 90 days.

The ED visa extension for part time language is 90 days at 1,900 baht with proof of study and done at Immigration.

so ppl who take ED visa is for those who cant be bothered border hop every 3 months?

In away. You can study on any kind of visa, including a tourist visa. However, next to being cheaper, an ED-visa would give you some more surety. The issuance of a new tourist visa can never be sure, once you study and entered on an ED-visa it is not very likely they will deny and extension as long as you study.

No. The "ED" Visa is for people who intend to study in the Kingdom for the minimum 4 hours per week at a facility Registered with the Ministry of Education.

Next question: Of the 4 hours minimum per week, during how many of those must I be awake?
