Most Park Accommodations Fully Booked Until Next Year

Most park accommodations fully booked until next year

Most accommodations at Thai national parks were fully booked from December 2009 to January 2010, the National Park Office said Wednesday.

The office would also set visitor limits at 10 popular national parks and give a 30 per cent discount for entrance fee during weekdays as to prevent overcrowding especially during holidays.

The office's director Opas Phiensataporn Wednesday said the National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department would soon give a 30-40 per cent discount out of the national parks' entrance fee during Monday to Thursday, in order to alleviate the high traffic of visitors during weekends or holidays. The measure was approved and should be in effect in time of the long holidays of December 5-7, he added.

Hmmm,

Maybe they have not fully worked out that people come to the parks at the weekend because it is the ........ well weekend.

Am not sure an average drop from 20 baht to 12-14 baht, for Thais (who are 99% of their custom) is going to entice people to take time off work, discounts on the accommodation would be good though.
