Hello All

I want to get a tattoo i'm not happy with reworked by Jimmy Wong but i can't find an email or number for him. I'd go to the studio but i'm out of Bangkok so i'd like to make an apointment before i fly in. Can anyone help?

Also does anyone have any other recommendations for someone specialising in reworking and covering up, i made the mistake before of not searching out the best and don't want to repeat that mistake.

Thank you.

He is very hard to get hold of. Usually works late night. Best to go to the shop in the evening. It is opposite Gullivers on Soi 5. My guy does amazing work but only speaks Thai. He is Num from Diamond Tattoo in Seacom Square Mall on Srinakarin Road

I'm looking for a very talented Tattoo artist, and its important to get someone who uses quality inks and can make a good, long lasting tattoo. I've searched around and this is the most recent thread about it. Cost isnt important, if i'm gunna wear it for the rest of my life its important to get it right, even if it costs more.

So Jimmy / Joy Wong are good? Where is their shop based nowadays?

Wolfie, Jimmy Wong and his daughter have very good reputations, and they are both still working on Soi 5. This article is four years old but someone I know went there recently.

Another one with a good rep is Lek New York, who has done a lot of VJs, etc. He used to have his studio upstairs inside the Lido cinema building, and this website looks current (just a guess of course):

I had one done in Lek New York a year ago (White Tiger in front of a cave on the right shoulder) . It was the lady who did it. Very happy with the job she has done and would recommend them.

Just to let you all know, i managed to get in touch with Joy Wong and had my tattoo done, she isnt cheap but the quality of her work is excellent! Her "bedside manner" is also very good, putting you at ease and having a little laugh and joke with you during the process. She quoted me 5hrs for my tattoo with a price but ended up working on it for *much* longer as she started to get into it and concentrate on some of the very fine details (it was a custom design, not a 'stock' tattoo) the price remained the same even though she worked on it for a lot longer - overall very impressed with her and her work.

If anyone else needs to get in touch with her, her shop is on Sukhumvit Soi 5 - pretty much opposite Gullivers, but her 'studio' is over in Siam Square, the Suk Soi 5 is just a kiosk to make contact with her etc. PM me if you want her number, she speaks english reasonably well.

Very nice indeed! Worth the money spent thumbsup.gif

Here is mine done at Lek last year for 9000 THB. Much smaller and in b/w only, but with a lot of details too.

I just started a dragon tattoo, it's 9' 4" long and wraps around my leg. The head is on my tummy and the tail just touches my foot. The pain around my knee, (especially on the kneecap), and on my tummy was intense. What do you guys do to cope with the pain? I have many tattoos already but this one just hurt too much.

More tattoos you have/get more pain you will experience!

I am covered my complete upper body and half of my legs and i dicussed this with a few other guys and tattoo artists and they all say the same, more tattoos you get more pain you get!

And there is nothing to do about it...you want to be a tattooed bad ass, then swallow the pain and dont cry!;-)

My whole back, upper chest, upper arms and left thigh are covered with tattoos, the only part that hurt is the ribcage. The more i got, the less it hurt. My first was in 1985. The dragon didn't really hurt except for the abdomen and the knee. All i wanted to know was if anyone had any hints about pain reduction, not some superhero's bullshit.

Please tell me what a tattooed bad ass is? No one see's my tattoos most of the time other than my wife.

For me, a goodnights' rest and a good meal before the tattoo session is the only thing. Drugs, alcohol, medication, numbing cream are not recommended. I find that tolerance to pain is greatly improved with a healthy body and mind. You might want to space out the sessions in 3 hr slots....every week or so.

pluto_manibo,

Thanks for your reply. I don't use anything normally and i had a bad night before my last session, so you are spot on there. Thank you for an intelligent answer. :)
