Soi 49 Healthcare: Samitivej + Dental Hospital

Having had some bad experiences in both dental and regular healthcare I am never visiting a clinic in Pattaya again. I have chosen Dental Hospital and Samitivej both located on soi 49 Sukhumvit after reading through alot of posts and websites. I'm hoping to get the best possible treatment in these clinics regardless the price since it's cheaper then going in Holland and insurance covers it.

I would really like to hear some opinions about this! I've never been to Samitivej before nor had I heared of it before tonight and had only one though pleasant experience with the Dental Hospital.

I had an operation to take a cyst out in Samitivej Sukhumvit in August - the standard of care was excellent, much better than I'd have received in the UK. Not used the dental services there yet, but I have a wisdom tooth I need extracted and I'll be going there next time I can leave Yangon. The only bad thing I can say about it is the food you get if you stay is horrible, but that's hospitals for you.

Used Samitivej for years - And Much prefer it to Bumrungrad. More Personal, Friendlier, Quieter in my opinion. All my family use Samitivej on 49. Never had a bad experience in many years.

A lot of Japanese patients use it which shows the quality as most Japanese will not accept inferior healthcare. Where as Bumrungrad is the Arab contingent.

I have been using the Dental Hospital for years and always been satisifed with it in terms of quality and convenience.

Samitivej is also my personal preference as a hospital per se. However, what you should choose is the doctor, not the hospital. While I detest the place , I still sometimes go to/refer peopel to Bumrungrad if the best doctor for the particualr speciality needed happens to be there. Ditto other hosps, for example best hand surgeon is to be found at Phayathai and Chaophya. Etc etc etc

If what you are looking for is just basic wellness care (check up etc) then I fully recommend either Dr. Phuchai or Dr, Anchana at the Samitivej Wellness Center, both are very thorough.

If you have a specific health issue then need to know what it is as no one hospital has the best specialisits for everything. And mediocre doctors can, unfortunately, be found in any hospital, even the better ones. So always do some research first, don't rely on the hospital to provide you with a good doctor. In fact, if you leave it to the hospital to select a doctor for you more than likely you will get referred to whomever is least busy and doctors who are less busy than their colleagues are often so for good reason.....!
