I have rectly taken some Cailis to counteract the effect of blood pressure reducing tablets, gave me a bad headache as aside effect. I have come across a natural remedy called ORVIAX(orviax.co.uk). Does anyone have any expereience of this product or if it is available in Thailand. I understand it is not requiring a prescription. Thanks.

I haven't heard of it being here. The various herbal remedies popular in the West are scarce here. One reason is that theer are a lot of Thai herbal remedies on the market which are claimed to treat just about everything. The Thai Ministry of Health actively promotes research into them and many of the government hospitals sell government-approved brands. Unfortunately al lthe labelling and packaging of these are in Thai as are articles about them, making it very hard for a Westerner to access. I'm pretty sure that there is a preparation for ED but don't know the name and, as mentioned, it will all be in Thai. If you have any Thai friends you could ask them, or perhaps have them write down the problem in Thai and then you can take it to a shop or hospital. (I do recommend the government hospital shops over malls etc, as those products are more reliabel in terms of containing the stated active ingrediant.)

ED is a common side effect of antihyoertensive meds but not all drugs do this, nor do the ones that do, do it to the same degree. It is usually possible to solve the problem with a change of medication, suggest you discuss with your doctor. Which meds exactly are you on and how high does your BP run? Any other chronic health conditions (diabetes etc)? As these affect the choice of BP medication. Are you overweight and do you exercise? (looking at possible ways to reduce or eliminate need for BP meds)

Thanks for your thoughts. I am not overweight and I exercise regularly. I saw my doctor today and recommended I try 10mg rather than the 20mg she prescribed. Iam on 10mg rampiril and 5mg amlovasc/amlopodine. I am still inclined to try orviax as it is a lot less expensive. See if it works and then can I get it in Thailand and thanks for the tip about government hospital shops rather than the malls,if I have understood you correct, are these shops in Hospitals?

Yes, government hospitals, or at least many of them. Sell herbal remedies and herbal soaps, cosmetics etc.

As mentioned I do nto think you will find orviax here, would probably after to get it shipped in. If you do suggest not investing too much $ in it as there is no scientific evidence that it works. There are tons of herbal mixtures being touted for ED, always have been, and since placebo effects are higher than average in ED treatment, there are bound to be some people who report success with any product but chances that it will help someone whose ED has a clear physiological base are less. No harm in trying, the stuff looks safe enough, just suggest you not order as huge quantity at first.

You are currently on an ACE inhibitor (rampiril) and calcium channel blocket (amlodipine). As antihypertensives goe these are not as prone to causing ED as some others but it does occur in say 1% of cases, probably more when the two types of drugs are taken in combination.

The dose reduction alone may do the trick. If not I suggest you ask your doctor about possible switch to the Angiotensin II inhibitor Losartan, which has been shown to improve erectile function in many cases.

The antihypertensive action is similiar to that of the ACE inhibitors so it would replace the rampiril .

An additional advantage is that losartan is available in inexpensive generic form in Thailand, GPO brand being the best option.

Sheryl suggested a similar drug to the ones I am one and giving me side effects, since then, yesterday, I had a consultation in the Uk with my Doctor who does not wish to change my prescrition for ramipril and amlovasc,so, unfortunately I have to put with the side effects and fulfil my life with another pill to do so. I have got my orviax and will try this on my next visit,11th January, so what works and where can I get it and costs , any ideas?

Thanks for any help
