Oz Visa For Thai Wife Of Eu Citizen

I have already valid ETA ad have never had any probs on many solo trips to Oz even when ThaiInt "lost my ETA" at Swampy

I am married years here and would like to take my 43 year wife old but looks older siince she married me!

She has no intention of overstaying no family or history in Oz or any dodgy stuff.

Tried ringing Oz folks BKK can never get thru to a person just a chain of answerphones.

Whats the go guys please anyone done this here?

I hope we fill in a form and pay some money soon so I can source flights.

My wife will have return ticket address where we will stay and access to $A10k in her bank 350k baht

Ive heard al sorts of nonsense about letters,police checks,employer refs deposits reasons to return.Medicals

Happy to do all this and she or both of us go for grilling at embassy if absolutely needed.

She is self employed,in good health has no crimenal record and has been Gulf SE Asia with me .

I understand the Commnwealth has very strict entry hurdles.

She has mother brother 2 kids home and business all here

I hope its straight forward and I dont have to go BKK for an interview

I am happy to be her gaurantor etc but do not want to buy Air ticket until she has a visa.

An English friend who has been with his Thai fiance said you need the ticket to get the Visa Catch 22?

Can it all be done by Post or with an agent?

Thanks in anticipation how any one ever gets through on a person by phone I dont know?

If its less painful and can be done in1-3 days we could go to KL where the High Commision is very helpful and on route

Of course the wedding and House Docs are all in Thai

Would we need it all notarised in English or Malay?

"Your wife is not eligible for an ETA, but you know that already. Appropriate visa is a subclass 676 visitor visa"

"If your attitude is that it is all nonsense, well, best of luck to you, and enjoy Australia on your own my friend. If your wife wants less than 3 month stay, then no medical required. The supporting documentation needed is any documentation that evidences that she intends to visit Australia as a genuine visitor only. So, documents that show employment, strong family ties in home country etc etc are a good start. Note however that the list is not exhaustive, and DIAC are required to consider all information included with the visa application"

"There you go, strong family ties and on-going employment in Thailand (see above). No requirement that you go guarantor, but you might provide a letter than you are providing additional financial support to your wife. Include documentation that you are in fact married though"

"If done in KL documents in Thai will need to be translated. If submitted in BKK, documents in Thai do not need to be translated, and it is no longer a requirement for documents to be notarised (for a tourist visa that is)"
