I read that thread before and I understand it can be somewhat difficult to get this done in Thailand. I just want to know if somebody, specifically in Samui, know if there is any clinic doing this. Or maybe somebody knows about where u can do it in Phuket as I go there quite often.

Is Bangkok really my only option?

The thread tells you any hospital can do it, but they have to follow the rules. Only after you have seen a docte can they tel you if they will do it.

The thread also gives this address:

Population and Community Development Association (PDA)

6 Sukhumvit 12, Klongtoey, Bangkok 10110

Tel : 662-229-4611-28 Fax : 662-229-4632

E-Mail : [email protected]

There you can get more information about local clinics of this organisation. Bu it might be that they are only for Thai nationals. In that case they might be able to suggest a few hospitals, but I think most major (non-religious) hospitals will do it. But they will probably not advertise it.

I was in Nathon Hospital for a biopsy and a doc was giving an abortion to a lady behind the curtains next to me. Try the ObGyn doc in Nathon on the ring road south of the SamuiMart (the store with the escalator) on the other side of the road.

This is sad but I hope everything works ou okay for you...

Ask a Thai at a pharmacy they will know for sure. Also the health clinic past Lamia on left side on the way to Nathon used to do them.

went through same thing a few years ago, could not get it done in Samui then, maybe you can now but i do not think its legal unless the mothers life is at risk. ended up with a trip to Bangkok and was done on grounds of economic hadship, typical thai are you poor yes ok can have, you have 8000 baht no i am poor bye bye not have money not get abortion. Obviously be carefull where you get it done because if you have problems after and you end up in hospital difficult questions to answer. she went to soi 12 Sukumvit Bkk.

this thread from before may help. pm jammi http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Unplanned-Pr....html&st=25

I know a girl who got it done in Samui recently. Think she went to one of the internationals, I will try and find out for you. If not then Thaksin hospital in Surat Thani. I would not reccommend Nathon hospital to anyone but that is just personal.

Price wise, here in Trang it is between 7-10k depending on how far gone the woman is. As with most things here, if you have the money to pay, the process should be pretty straightforward.
