Is There A Rajabhat University In Krabi? Other Facilities?

At the start of this year I moved from Phuket to Pattaya, to undertake a software contract. That job still continues, but I'm allowed to work away from the Pattaya office (BTW, I have a work permit etc).

I do not want to move back to Phuket. I have nightmares of meeting my ex in Big C and her attacking me with a large knife!! But I do like living in the south of Thailand.

How is the Krabi region nowadays? I'm travelled to Krabi on several occasions, but never stayed there. I just need a quiet place to stay longterm with reliable internet (not sure if 'reliable' and 'internet' can work together in Thailand!).

Is there a government Rajabhat university in Krabi? My partner wants to finish the university course that she started years ago, but never finished due to lack of funds. Business Administration is the subject. (I read that the Phuket Rajabhat offers some courses in Krabi province).

Anything else about Krabi that I don't know? Cycling, mountains, friendly people etc??

Thanks for any advice or suggestions

Simon, I spent a week in Krabi a couple of months ago, it was wonderful. Its certainly much quieter there than either Pattaya & Phuket.

I dunno about the uni but there is certainly some beautiful areas around those parts, I have marked it in my book for a return visit with the view of checking out real estate there. I think you would need at least a couple of weeks to explore the place properly, I doubt Christmas time would be good for that.

Agreed Neverdie. I have been quite a few times in the past year when taking guests from the Phuket hotel over to their Krabi hotel (I admit it guv - I was an illegal taxi!). But the times that I spent in Ao Nang and Krabi Town were pleasant enough.

We want to relocate because my own new internet business is beginning to bear fruit and there is no reason to remain in Pattaya since I can continue my employer's work from any location. Given the choice of living in Pattaya or hel_l itself, I would happily chose to live in hel_l :)

Later next month I can take a few days off and go and visit the area. I particularly would like to live in an area close to the hills - want to get my mountain bike out again.

Yes its wonderful up in the moutain area. I also climbed up to that Buddhist Temple (cant remember the name), its like right at the top of this way high mountain, there was so many <deleted> stairs and it was pissing down rain but I had to get to the top (for some reason) Ohh thats right the gf wanted me too :D dam_n woman.

Anyway, I forgot the pain when I reached the top, as despite the clouds, the view was awesome.....then I scared the hel_l out of myself on the way down NEVER AGAIN :)

I have heard, from several Thais I have run into, that Phuket Rajabhat offers courses in Krabi. They told me classes were held at Ammart High School campus in Krabi Town. Business Administration sounds like a course they would offer here.
