Condos

Featured Replies

I am thinking of investing in a Condo on Ko Samui as a second home as my wife hails from Surat and we want to have somewhere to stay for long periods of time .

I dont really fancy staying for long periods in Surat. Can anyone advise me if

Are there are any Condominiums on Samui ?

who are the best agents in town ?

in the current economical climate is it better to rent or buy.? If renting what would 20-30,000 baht get me a month?

Many thanks in advance

Thai Pauly

Samui is going crazy, since Phuket took the hit.

I looked at these ones

http://www.royaldevelopments.com/rsb/

Cheapest are about 450 usd up to 1m usd.

5% rental gaurantee first year.

Best finish I have seen on the island.

People who bought off the plan 2 years ago have had 50-100% gains.

Lot of expats buying in who live/work in Sing and HK.

I think prop values in general on samui have double over 2 years.

Will they again ......possibly.

20k gets you a nice falang style house in a complex with a pool.

30k prob gets you a nice house with own pool etc.

Thanks for that Snoop,

any other comments would be gratefully received

Check out CoCo, bought with them last year properties starting at about US $150,000

Properties enough, but condominiums, not really.

For 20-30.000 baht a month you can rent a 2-bedroom bungalow fully furnished and even have a shared swimmingpool. Or if you prefer right on the beach. btw i pay 8000 baht a month for a 1 bedroom bungalow with a garden at the beach. I don't feel much pressure to buy with those rental prises. And i don't get a headache about the foreigner can't own land problems.

Hmm, just saw the website; who wants to buy there, at those prices, knowing that your neighbours can look into your kitchen (or bedroom)....34 villas, built SO close to each other;

Ripp-off I would say. Same thing with CoCo.

LaoPo

Came across these.

Don't know why they are selling them on 30 year leases rather than under  condo ownership.

http://www.kosamuiproperties.com/stock/Apartments/AH496.html

And

http://www.kosamuiproperties.com/stock/Apartments/AB495.html

Probably because they won't be able to sell to Thai people at those prices, and therefore can't abide by the 50 percent rule.

Apart from the crazy prices I'm SHOCKED that they are starting now to spoil Samui also with apartment buildings.

Wat a shame!

Not to mention plenty of shop houses that will no doubt mar the landscape as the paint flakes off.
