I would say most Farangs in LOS are not married to women, with the education credentials and high English skills, such as your wife. They are lucky to have more than the most simple conversations, even after years of marriage with their ladies. 95% of the women I encounter, where I live in LOS, speak almost ZERO English. I sometimes wonder where these students were during their supposed 12 years of English classes in the education system.

My better half had only a very basic education at a rural school, I on the other hand gained two degrees from western universities - there's no doubt in my mind that she's far far smarter than me and I'm amazed at how much I continue learn from her.

The stats to do not agree with this. Sure there are a handful of grotesquely rich folks without an education, but I have NO doubts that the educated earn far more than the majority of those with out an education.
