Good Doctor/clinic For Acne Treatment In Pattaya

Hello members. My female friend who lives in Pattaya, has within the last two months had a bad breakout of acne on her face. Can anyone recommend a good doctor or clinic in Pattaya who will fully investigate the possible causes before prescribing any treatment.

Hopefully the doctor can prescribe Roaccutane (Roche). (AKA oral isotretinoin )

I don't believe there is any better treatment available.

The only precaution is women taking the drug should not get preganant

as it can cause abnormalities in the foetus.

Of course normal precautions re allergies must be observed.

We visited a "skin specialist" in Bangkok (BNH) and he prescribed cleansing

lotions and antibiotics. They were useless.

Roaccutane is expensive but the results are dramatic and long lasting.

It's taken over a 3 month period.

Do a search in Google and get all the facts.

I have not seen her Acne in person, only on a poor webcam, so I cannot say 100% how bad it is. I will visit her in March. However Accutane is a very harsh product and should only be used as a last resort. However if a doctor does prescribe it, I can get a very keenly priced Generic from India

my wife had an outbreak some months ago.

she went to a clinic in Festival center North Pattaya

i was very skeptical about it and likened it to a snake oil salesman

however i have to admit i was wrong, it did help her a lot and it soon cleared up.

it seemed to cost somewhere between 250 & 400 baht a visit with some facial creams issued

they seem to be a nationwide chain but the one in pattaya is on the second floor on the right side, looking at the building front from second road to back

they are called Rajdhevee Clinic

My ex had facial acne all the time I knew her.

She tried many treatments to no avail.

Most of her family had it to.

She also sufferred bad migrain attacks for 2-3 days at a time.

Again she tried many treatments but no success.

She charges like a wounded bull and is not as good as you may think...I've seen her several times. I'm staying mum on the acne treatment because she prescribed something that preformed miracles in a week...but I paid 1000 baht for that info.

I had a similar situation. We went to the Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital on Sukumvit. Relatively expensive..... yes, but very professional and competent. Do not waste your time and money with these skin treatment salons you see in the shopping malls. They don't treat the problem only mask it.

Let me translate and please accept my apology for the confusing way I worded my last post.

She charged a lot for an appointment, 1000 baht for about 5 minutes of consultation. She'll help you out with a cure for acne - it worked like a dream for my girl. A 2 year problem gone within a week. No, I'm not going to suggest the product to use.

I used her for another problem, a skin biopsy, and was not impressed. I think this specialist is too much into making as much as she can with as little effort as possible. I have seen quite a few specialists at PIH and most charge 500 baht for a quick consultation. Having said that, I think she knows a lot about acne cures and could be worth a visit if you don't mind spending the money.

But you rather have her continuing this practice towards other members of this forum,

then revealing the product prescribed to your girl.

I'm not upset she "charges like a wounded bull". I mentioned her charge because someone mentioned her name. People now know it and can decide for themselves if it is affordable. I was unable to get a straight answer at the hospital as to her charge before I saw her. When you ask you get a vague answer that it depends on what she does along with a vague price range.

Doctors' prices at the PIH seem to be a well kept secret and you never know until you get your bill unless you are inquiring about a particular procedure.

Isn't that helpful and informative.

I don't want to reveal the name of the product on an open forum because medicines don't always work the same for every person and I don't want anyone coming back upset that I mislead them.

My wife got two cures with Roaccutane and whilst it helped improve the ACNE somewhat it did not solve the issue.

We lived seaboard and moving away from seaside stopped ACNE developing further.

Her face remains two colors though, we gave up on docters.

I understand Roaccutane helps in 80% of the cases.

I'd say that's helpful and informative. Been to PIH a few times and also the infamous PBH quite a few times and astounded each time of how much they stomach to charge you. Nowadays if I have a choice, I go to Phyathai in Sriracha for any medical problems. Would say, same or better quality of professionals at a reasonable price.

It's very difficult to cure acne because the underlying causes are nearly impossible to pin point. There are some good treatments around for the pimples though.

Thought I would give a belated update. My friend went to a clinic in the new Festival Mall which prescribed Accutane, antibiotics and various creams and lotions, plus Laser treatment. Cost alot but it did work very well. Now one year on the Acne has come back with a vengeance. I would like her to see someone who will investigate the reason why her Acne has returned. I cannot afford alot. I would hope she can get a consultation, any tests required and a treatment programme for around £400 British Pounds. Does anyone know if this is possible? And a suitable Dermatologist within my price range?

I have had acne on my back for most part of my life.Tried many creams and other things but nothing helped.

Then I got described minocycline which is an antbiotic and it worked very well.In Thailand minocycline isn't readily available but doxycycline is.It is basically the same medicine but it has the disadvantage that it might make you sunburn much faster,I had no problem with it.

It worked quickly and after a few months the acne problem dissapeared comletely and has not returned after almost 4 years now.Doxycycline is available at Fascino in generic form and is dirt cheap.

all she needs is a 2 week course of doxycycline antibiotics, very cheap and very effective, if it's really bad maybe 3-4 weeks, 2x day after meal, problem is she must adhere to the treatment once started

No need to see a doctor - here is a very simple do-it-yourself advice:

Buy Acne-Aid bar soap from any local pharmacy (260 baht). And also buy Benzac AC 2.5% (Benzoyl peroxide) by Galderma - get a 60gr tube (only at the pharmacy on the 2nd floor of Carrefour) - 290 baht.

Tell her to do the following daily:

Wash her face clean with the Acne Soap - massage small gentle circles - don't press too hard.

Dry with soft towel gently

Apply the 2.5 benzoyl peroxide all over her face gently.

Apply gentle water base skin moisturizer.

Do the above twice, once in the morning and one more time before she goes to bed.

During the day do not touch, rub, scratch, peel - especially with dirty hands.

Your friend will see the result in a couple of weeks - guarantee!!

Once her acne is gone - I would advice her to continue using the above over the counter acne products.
