there are an incredible amount of tailor shops throughout this country run by indians, balgladeshis, etc. which appear to be running a roaring trade, regardless of the devistating tsumani in the south. the thing ive noticed, while travelling in the south for a number of months is that they are all men working, touting and annoying passers by. where are all the women? i guess its not too strange however, where have the children come from as i didnt see any indian/bangladeshi etc women. any idea? also, considering there are quite alot of of these 'tailors' wheres all the great indian/bangladeshi food?

Dude, who do you think does the sewing?

Or they could be at home taking care of the unseen children.

Or doing the books.

Go into the garment warehouses in Bangkok and you'll see alot more women. The shops are just a storefront.

Most (if not all) of the women working in the warehouses are Thai/Lao.

The Indian women are at home, tending the children and the paperwork.
