I live in the southern part of Chiang Mai and my friend told be he saw a stag and some hinds right in the city near a little waterway nearby. It surprised him because neither of us knew there were wild deer in the city.

You need a lot of doe, and more than a few bucks, if you don't want to get be-hind.
