Hi, I will be arriving in Thailand next month from America on a tourist visa that I assume I will get at the airport. Can I go to immigration in Bangkok before the 30 days is up and get a 30 day extension?

You are talking about a Visa Exempt entry. There is a chance that you will not be allowed on the flight without a Visa or a return ticket within 30 days.

If you make it to Thailand the most you would get is a 7 day extension.

You need a Tourist Visa. They are free at the moment.

That makes no sense. You are allowed on a flight without a visa. They are issued on arrival at the airport.

I will be arriving on a 30 day tourist visa. Last year I was able to go to immigration for a 30 day extension. Is this not the case?

Without a Visa you need a return ticket within 30 days to be allowed on the flight.

A tourist Visa is free and can be extended by 30 days as Immigration. A 30 day Visa exempt entry cannot.

For a stay over 30 days you need a Visa.

If you want to chance traveling without one it is up to you.

I'm coming with no visa at all just my passport. I will get a 30 day tourist stamp right? Then I can go to immigration and get a 30 day tourist extension right?

Yes if you actually make it to Thailand and No 7 days max.

Get a Visa or take a chance on being refused entry to the flight.

Your Choice.

What are you talking about refused entry to flight? I do not need a visa for a 30 day tourist visa. You are making this more complicated than it has to be. I'm coming to Thailand on a flight with no visa. I'm getting a stamp at the airport for 30 days. My question was can I extend that by 30 days at an immigration office.

I know I can go through thaivisarun.com and get a double entry tourist visa by going to laos before the 30 days is up I just need to know if I can extend the visa on arrival for 30 days before going to laos for a double entry tourist visa.

You do not need a return ticket because you can cross the border into another country and leave from there.

If you don't know or you are unsure then please don't comment on these things. I would refer it to someone that knows about this 100%

If you travel to Thailand with a ticket with the return flight beyond a stay of 30 days, and you don't have a visa, there is a chance the airline will not take you along.

A visa exempt is for 30 days, and can be extended for 7 days only.

Go get yourself a ( now free) tourist visa for 60 days.

Thank you. Then can I get a double entry tourist visa at laos before the last 30 days expires?

You need a Tourist Visa before you leave USA. 100% fact.

You're wrong. You don't need a tourist visa before leaving the USA. You get a 30 day tourist visa on arrival. Seriously dude, stop commenting.

You can apply for a gratis double entry visa at a Thai consulate before you leave home. The 30 day visa exemption on arrival is conditional on you holding a confirmed outbound airticket dated within 30 days of your arrival.

Again, not true. I arrived in Bangkok last year in July on a 30 day tourist visa on Northwest Airlines and was given a 30 day stamp. I had NO return ticket.

If you are going to continue to be rude to someone who is trying to help you and save you a lot of problems you are not welcome here.

As everyone else has said you need a Visa or face being refused entry to the flight. FACT.

If you choose not to listen it is up to you.
