Bophut, Suratthani?

Featured Replies

Hi, Myself and my girlfriend are coming to Koh Samui next week and have found a nice hotel, nice price in Bophut, Can anybody tell me what this area is like? Is it one of the livelier places or quiet? Good local facilities and amenities? Thanks very much

Bophut is one of the quieter areas of Samui. Some nice beaches around and some nice bars and restaurants as well. Easy access to the major tourist areas like chawang and Lamai. You will enjoy it there I think :)

Lots of farang orientated restaurants, lots of tourist shops, a few pubs but fairly quiet. Close enough for a night out in Chaweng & close to the big shopping stores, Big C & Tesco. If you want romantic & reserved then it's the place, if you are a party couple then not the most convenient location.

lived there for 8 years, great views across the ocean if you in bar by the sea otherwise you will not see it. beach and sea average if you go into chaweng you will get ripped off something chronic by taxis, search samui taxis to see what i mean. was nice 6 years ago now over deleloped even got flippin tailors shops. for good advice see Graham frog gecko, John mosquito bar, peter billabong and jimmy in irish bar forget name. i found bang rak better place but again ocean and beach average. Bohput not very lively but plenty of bars. not a single girlie bar which may be a good thing. boss village not like. ALWAYS sort out price with taxi before you get in even if its just to Big C or some where local, even though its the law taxi mafia refuse point blank to use meters, probably best if hotel can pick you up from airport should be free pick up.
