I can HIGHLY recommend Dr Chartree at Bangkok Christian Hospital. He was my last resort before flying back to Australia for surgery and he knew exactly what the problem was. Good English too.

Hello Muntasir,

Please understand I am not a doctor, just relaying general information, nothing specific to your case.

The doctor will depend on the original diagnosis, assuming that you have seen a doctor already to know that endometriosis is the problem.

If it is just a small case, then any OB/GYN can treat the problem, usually through hormone tablets/injections. If it is a large case with a lot of pain, then you may need a specialist.

3 doctors (of several) that we can recommend are:

Dr. Saowanee Karnplumjid

Dr. Preecha Hemachayati

Dr. Parichart Thanasitthichai

If the patient has not been properly diagnosed, we recommend doing that first.

If you have any further questions, please PM me.

Best regards,

Scott @ Bumrungrad

I see a dr vibil at bumrungrad and have been very pleased with him thus far. I had been to several other ob/gyns before I found him.

Hi there, thanks for all of your responses but need some more info. if possible. I know someone who had endometrosis operation in Dec 2007 with Dr. Chartchai Srisombut (bumrungrad) and the doc told her that after her first period she will not have any pain during her period but the fact is she never had any period without pain and sad but true is that she had those things (cyst afibroid) growing just after 4 months into operation which she found out through TVS. Now I am totally confused. In this forum i have found people suggesting that Samitivej is better but i really am confused...............please help :)

What more information do you need? I don't think any hospital is better than another per se. It comes down to the individual doctor. I can personally vouch for dr vibil. I had seen 3 other ob gyns at bangkok hospital pattaya who just prescribed me pain medicine. Dr Vibil has been very proactive. He scheduled me for an operation immediately. He is chinese which I think makes a bit of a difference. His bedside manner is very different from thai doctors I have seen.

It is the doctor that matters, not the hospital. Both hospitals have a range of doctors, some of whom are highly trained in and specialize in this problem. You have had 1 firsthand recommendation. Suggest you also review the websites of both hospitals and look for OB-Gyns with special interest in endometriosis and training in the west.

Need also to understand that every case is a little different and what works for one will not work for another. Also that surgery, if indicated (some cases respond to medication alone) will be more effective if it is a total hysterectomy but that, of course, means loss of ability to bear children. For women who still want children there are other surgical options but they do have a lower success rate. Anyhow what you need is a doctor who will explain all this to you and involve you in the decision making process. Suggest you consult more than one doctor both to find the one you are most comfortable with and also to see if there is unanimity on recommendations for your particular case.
