Penalty Spot on Sukhumvit will surely play them. The guy who run it is German and he absolutely loves hockey. He actually sponsor our Hockey League.

We watch the Stanley cup final there last year at 6 in the morning.

Also, ASN on the cable show hockey game, not sure if they are going to show the Olympic though

Cheers,

Sorry to throw water on your fire but ASN is not showing the Winter Olympics. UBC on channel 97 NHK has them listed. Four years ago they were not shown in Thailand. I'm sure that the Thailand Winter Olympic team will give the Jamaican team a run for the money in the bobsled competition. :)

ESPN on True is advertising that they are covering

the Olympics but do not know what events.

Sports corner on suk 20 show lots of live sporting events.

15 hour time difference could be ok, If game starts at 8pm PST

then that would be 11am Thai Time

The Swedish owner of THE PELICAN INN (Suk. Soi 22, first cul-de-sac on the right after TITANIUM BAR) is a player and fields a local team.

If there is any way to get it, he will. Great pub to hang out in. The best free bar-b-que in Bangkok the last Friday of every month!

Hi fellow hockey fan --

I don't know if you are interested in watching any of these on the Internet -- I watch some NHL games and other sports on my television, linked to computer -- or you can watch on the small screen.

The quality and selection is usually very good -- but I don't know what their Olympic coverage will be .

Go to http://atdhe,net

There is also Fox sports through this link.

I am in Lamphun province and have no bars to go to -- and I doubt there will be anything on satellite -- we have Thaicom2/5 -- and they consistently ignore North America.

Last winter olympics, they did not even have any coverage on the News here, despite the fact that Thailand had a team ( only one person) at the winter Olympics. This time, Thailand has no team there.

Best of luck with it

Chris

First, thanks to Baa_Mango for posting all those times. I won't catch the early stuff, and maybe even just tune in for later parts of some games, but at least I've got a shot at some of it.

Does anyone know whether http://atd.net will be showing the games, and if they are, whether they're accessible to us?

For example, I was able to watch the Grey Cup (well, the second half - another early morning game) without any difficulty, but when I tried to see some of the Superbowl, after about 90 seconds I got a popup saying that my country had exceeded its streaming limit and I'd have to pay for premium service.

I couldn't spot anything on their website about this.

Anyone have any ideas about their broadcast of Olympic hockey?

I haven't done any searching yet for availability of the games, and whether we'll be able to get more than scores, but here's the schedule for the Women's Hockey. I've done what I could making it a 24 hour clock, Thai time. But I'll admit to getting confused at times, so if someone spots an error, please, don't hesitate to correct it. No ideas yet of what's being shown on tv anywhere, or on the net.

Also, many sport channels (e.g. NBC) have online broadcasting, but I'm not sure if it is possible to watch outside US. Have tried some which wouldn't stream to Thai IP adress but others I'm not sure.. Anyone have any experience with watching NBC live streaming outside US?

NBC restricted to US only:( just have found out..

I'm not sure the above solution will do it, in this case.

NBC appears to have a two-step process for accessing live event video... First you need to be accessing from a U.S. IP address, which can be managed. But then second, they appear then to be asking the viewer to pick their local U.S. cable provider and log-in using the user ID and password for that cable account.

Most of the major cable systems in the U.S. appear to be listed as partners with NBC on this. But if you can't sign in using a valid cable system user ID and password, then you appear to be locked out -- at least in terms of accessing live event video directly from NBC.

Viewing online via a program called Stream Torrent appears to be one of the better alternatives...

Unfortunately it seems that you are right, I have also tried some other websites and none of them was working with UltraSurf on :) Anyway, another interesting site: http://behaya.info/link1.html

And thx for posting info about Stream Torrent, it is very interesting (although none of the torrents worked for me). Also thx for posting the ATDHE.Net, Ultra Surf works good with this site..

Just for everyone else's info, Captain and I have chatted via PM, and he's now up and running with StreamTorrent, and getting good Olympics feeds...

As I mentioned in another TV thread, there are at least two different channels via StreamTorrent that are providing quite good coverage of NBC's Olympics feeds....

Channel AC TV on StreamTorrent is carrying NBC's main Olympics feed, usually from about midnight to noon time, BKK time...

In addition, Channel VP5 on StreamTorrent is carrying CNBC network's feed of live hockey games, again, seemingly in similar hours to those above.

Keep in mind, those StreamTorrent channels are just retransmitting the NBC et. al. live broadcasts at the hours they are occurring in U.S./Canada time... And when those networks are not broadcasting, overnight there and afternoon-evenings here, there'd be nothing much from the Olympics on ST.

Bangkok people head to D'Pelican bar. Sukhumvit soi 22. It's just past Titanium bar in the cul de sac there. Watched Russia v Canada at Pelican today they're open early mornings.

Thanks jbangkok. Now that Canada seems to have gotten their act together I can't wait for the next round.
