Several Thai friends /neighbours have warned about, Cobras are "coming out of the jungle" to find water... now it's starting to warm / dry up.

One set of neighbours found two fairly large ones in their kitchen, the other day, since then two more around the out side of the house.

One also spat at their cat this evening... they then made up a mixer or lemon grass & ginger, to flush out the cats eyes... I think the cat is OK....

Try to make some kind of noise or stump you feet occasionally if walking about.... the garden or jungle, I believe (and hope) it prevents surprise attacks!

I think I'd rather see the big spiders :)

Well, my guess would be just about anywhere... since the island is mostly covered by "jungle & hills".... I am sure not, just on Samui, but KP & K Toa as well as any other parts of Asia.

They are blackish grey in colour, just so you know....

Most times I have seen them they head of in the opposite direction... :) Which is generally what snakes do.

Just use caution & back off if you see one....

About this time of year, I chased an 8-footer on Koh Lanta in the jungle with my camera , not knowing what it was (until a native farmer identified it on my camera's LCD later). Babe in the Woods. :)

Sister lives near Bohput. Her dog just spent 5 days under veterinary supervision after 2 cobra bites from snake in garden - manacled cobra (not sure of spelling). Kanya was lucky to survive but seems on the road to recovery. This was their 2nd cobra visit recently. Snake now dead due to Kanya and Lea-lea but beware they are out there.

They've been here long before US!

We invade THEIR habitats!

Don't freak in paranoia and horror, let them live!

We are simply NOT their prey!

Calm down. No one wants to kil them. We'll just call Phil to organise a relocation :)

The owner of our house & the smaller bungalows down the hill keep a healthy amount of thai cats around the place, between them & the birds we are fairly safe snake, mouse & rat wise but this is the tropics so being vigilant of snakes is always a good idea.

I'll kill every goddamned one I see, and I don't care who likes it.

A very rationed and intelligent response. :)
